About Sacred Cow Productions
In the early 80s, Sacred Cow Productions was created by a core group of friends including director Kevin Booth and the late, great comedian Bill Hicks. Later in the decade, Booth started filming and editing music videos for his band, Year Zero, which had signed to Chrysalis Records. He went on to produce several comedy CDs and videos with Bill Hicks, spanning over a decade, and also produced albums and videos for several other comedians including Doug Stanhope and Joe Rogan.
In the new millennium, Kevin Booth went in a different direction and created two films with the highly controversial talk-show host, Alex Jones, who has become known as the founder of the "9/11 Truth Movement". Following Bill's death and the loss of several family members to alcohol, cigarettes, and prescription pharmaceuticals, Booth decided to produce a feature-length documentary for SHOWTIME exploring America's failed drug policies; American Drug War is Booth's debut as a narrator and the first of a series of films that will build on his ability to untangle myths and present serious subjects with a dry wit and eye for the absurd.
